IP-to-Country database gives information on the geographical location of an IP address based on internet infrastructure information, which is significantly more accurate than the conventional inverse lookup method for determining a visitor's location.
TraceWatch uses both methods, if you download TraceWatch without the IP-to-Country database, it will use inverse lookup method.
You can download and install ip-to-country database at any time.
You can always download the IP-to-Country database from TraceWatch website or http://ip-to-country.webhosting.info/. Note that the file at webhosting.info may be more up to date than the one available here.
How to Update or Install IP-to-Country database after TraceWatch is installed
- after Downloading the zip file, extract and upload ip-to-country.csv to twatch_include folder of your website, replace older file if already exists.
- go to this url: http://yourdomain/twatch/updateiptc.php
- wait for update to finish
