Errormessage

Postby Richard » Tue Aug 03, 2010 7:39 pm

i regulary get errormessage but still dont know why they occur. i used to have them a lot till i reinstalled webtrace, but since a few days they appear again always ending with the line happening in file

./WebAnalyse/lib/Entity.php Line: 128

and always ending with the line

TwatchEntity->getValueIdReferences( )

originally i thought it has something to do with the translation to german, but with the´new installation i dont use any translation. i checked the whole strack tracne and the logged page title is not different to any other logged page titles (it does not even have any special german chars), and i can not find any information in it that helps me to fix that problem

i did not have any of these error-messages the last hours. seems that it was just a coincidence that so many of them appeared in a each hour.

anyway i wonder why they sometimes occur and then dont appear for many days.

ok, here it is:
in the last 3 hours 15 of those mistakes happened. i dont know why but they always come in series.

and once again, i dont use any translations for it since the second installation. i see the page on english not on german.
the problem is that any of those errormessages prevents a logging of that page view.

this night till midday no such error happened. could it be connected to string-manipulations of the referrer? yesterday i removed some of the mistakes i made and did not have errors since that time (well but they always come in series so no idea if i really fixed the problem). before i made some buggy manipulations to the referrer to make the referrer url shorter by removing unnecessary parameters in it. maybe incorrect referrer urls like "index.php?&id= ..." could have caused such a problem?

This looks like a bug in dictionary cleanup process. The reason why the problem comes and goes away is that such tasks are distributed over several days and happen in intervals. I need to do some more research about this and get back to you later. Thanks for reporting and the stack trace.

thanks for the information. but one more question. if the errors happen in the clean up, does it maybe mean that the page names included in the error report are no real page visits but some pages performed in a clean-up routine? i just want to know: if i have for example 50 error messages in the morning, if these are 50 lost logs from real page views.

No, Since the distributed tasks are performed at the end of the logging process there shouldn't be any missed logs. But there may be some complication with setting tracking cookies in visitor's browser (I'm not sure about this I need to take another look at the code).
