invalid data

Postby searcher » Sat Jan 23, 2010 10:07 am

Sometimes I get the following error messages (today 21 errors):
invalid data
ArdeSerializer::_stringToData( '[ArdeWarning,1,sWarning,i2,slastInsertId was zero for key 4 and I couldn't find any conflicting entr'..., 189, null )

These errors are effected by the files
/base/lib/ArdeSerializer.php Line: 81
/base/lib/ArdeSerializer.php Line: 79
/base/lib/ArdeSerializer.php Line: 55
/base/lib/ArdeDbErrorReporter.php Line: 48
/admin/errors.php Line: 37
/admin/errors.php Line: 69

What's the matter? BTW: When I click on path analysis, I only see
Total Sampled Paths: 0
Matching Paths: 0

I have no idea what the reason could be.

The error message you are getting is very strange it is actually "an error message about another error message" (as weird as it sounds)
I have no idea why you're getting this. Wait for the next update that I'll upload in a few days it fixes a lot of things, hopefully it
will solve this problem or at least give you an straight error message.

See this topic about path analysis page being empty.

After updating to 0.331 some days ago the error messages returned again (I overwrited part of the path with "xxx"):
invalid data
File: /xxx/base/lib/ArdeSerializer.php Line: 81

ArdeSerializer::_stringToData( '[ArdeWarning,1,sWarning,i2,slastInsertId was zero for key 4 and I couldn't find any conflicting entr'..., 189, null )
called in File: /xxx/base/lib/ArdeSerializer.php Line: 79
ArdeSerializer::_stringToData( '[ArdeWarning,1,sWarning,i2,slastInsertId was zero for key 4 and I couldn't find any conflicting entr'..., 0, null )
called in File: /xxx/base/lib/ArdeSerializer.php Line: 55
ArdeSerializer::stringToData( '[ArdeWarning,1,sWarning,i2,slastInsertId was zero for key 4 and I couldn't find any conflicting entr'... )
called in File: /xxx/base/lib/ArdeDbErrorReporter.php Line: 48
ArdeDbErrorReporter->getErrors( )
called in File: /xxx/admin/errors.php Line: 37
AdminErrorsPage->render( object [ArdeXmlPrinter] )
called in File: /xxx/admin/errors.php Line: 69

Path Analysis does not works neither with the older version nor with updated version.

i also got errors like that some days ago. simply because i accidentally added an entity leaving the data key in the entities menu empty and adding it. after that the errors even blocked the complete page and i had to manipulate the web-trace code by adding a try catch block to the lines causing that problem. i even was not able to remove this data which causes the error, so i have this invalid entity all the time, but at least it does not crash the page anymore, i just have to ignore it.

@richard: how could you add an entity with empty "data key"? when I try to do that a dialog pops up saying "enter the input key please". what browser are you using?

firefox 3.6.3

i can not remember what i exactly did, it happened right at the beginning when i started tracewatch. actually i use a pop up blocker, and i don't know if it was deactivated for that page this time.

maybe that was the reason.

Well! this incident let me find a bug in ArdeSerializer when given empty strings. I fixed it for next release. The problem with empty "data key" should be solved now but I'm not sure yet about searcher's problem. Also now we check for non-empty "data key" at server side too.
